To work a subsidized job with YES, there are certain documents you will need to provide:
- Your Work Permit (hard copy): If you are under 18, we must have the hard copy of your work permit on file while you are actively on our payroll. We mail work permits back at the end of the Summer Jobs Program. For more information on how to get a work permit, click here.
- Your Social Security Card (copy): This is required for putting you on payroll. We can make a copy of the original for you, or you can upload a copy/photo here. If you do not have a copy of your social security card, a birth certificate may be used instead, but you will still need to know your social security number to fill out tax paperwork.
- A Photo ID (copy): This fulfills a City of Ithaca HR requirement. School IDs and School Tool printouts are acceptable. Again, they can be uploaded here.
- If you are qualifying for YES services via family income, your parent/caregiver will need to complete a TSYEP Form and may need to submit proof of income (paystub, etc) if they are unable to check off any qualifying services received.
- If you are not a US Citizen, you may need to provide a copy of your Permanent Resident Card (form I-551) or I-94, or provide us with your USCIS number so that your tax paperwork can be appropriately filled out.
- If you are 18 or older, you will need to provide a qualifying identity document for tax purposes, since you will not have a work permit. The most common documents used for this are non-expired Driver's Licenses/Learner's Permits, or US Passports. These will also fulfill the photo ID requirement.
